The Focus Article of EPIC May 2023 covers Supreme Court’s Judgment regarding Control of Administrative Services in National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi. The acrimonious dispute between the Union Government and the Government of NCT, Delhi had led to delay in decision making and other governance issues. The Supreme Court Judgment was expected to settle the dispute, however, the constitution of National Capital Civil Services Authority (NCCSA) by the Union Government through an Ordinance, indicates that the dispute may linger on. Setting politics aside, the Union and Delhi Government must cooperate with each other, respecting each other’s roles and responsibilities as defined by the Constitution to ensure best development of the NCT, Delhi.
