Statement (1) India accounts for about a quarter of the global TB burden. Worldwide India is the country with the highest burden of both TB and MDR TB. There are an estimated 79,000 multi-drug resistant TB patients among the notified cases of pulmonary TB each year. India is also the country with the second highest number (after South Africa) of estimated HIV associated TB cases. So, 1 is correct.

Statement (2) the government is planning to eliminate TB by 2025, and there is a new National Strategic Plan 2017 – 2025 with ambitious ideas endorsed by the government. However WHO target to eradicate TB from the world is 2035.  So, 2 are incorrect.

Statement (3) TB treatment & care in India is provided in the public sector by the government’s Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) as well as through private sector health providers. The private sector is very large, and it is believed that more than half of all TB patients are cared for in the private sector. So 3 are incorrect.

Statement (1) to be eligible for membership of the Legislative council, a person must have completed the age of 30 year. So, 1 is incorrect.

Statement (2) the legislative council is permanent body but 1/3rd of its member retire every 2 years. So, 2 are incorrect.

But again, to create or to abolish a state legislative council, the state legislative assembly must pass a resolution, which must be supported by majority of the strength of the house and 2/3rd majority of the present and voting.        So, 3 are incorrect.

Operation All-Out (OAO) is a joint offensive launched by Indian security forces (Indian Army, CRPF, Jammu and Kashmir Police, BSF and IB) in the later half of 2017 to flush out militants and terrorists in Kashmir until there is complete peace in the state. The offensive is against militants from various terrorist organisations including Lashkar-e- Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and Al-Badr.

The operation was initiated with the consent of Ministry for Home Affairs Government of India following the unrest in 2016 due to the death of Burhan Wani and subsequent militant and terrorist attacks in the region.
