DescriptionIt is a vector-borne infectious disease.
Caused byBacterium Borrelia burgdorferi
Transmission1. It is primarily transmitted to humans through the bite of infected black-legged ticks, often referred to as deer ticks.
Affected regions1. It’s commonly found in forests and grasslands around the world, especially when the weather is warmer.
2.  It is most commonly reported in North America, Europe, and some parts of Asia.
SymptomsHigh-grade fever, pain and swelling in his knee, neck stiffness and superficial ulcers over the scrotum
Treatment1) The standard treatment for Lyme disease is an antibiotic taken as a pill.
2) The treatment usually lasts 10 to 14 days. Treatment may be longer depending on symptoms.
