Explanation – Randomized Controlled Trials are considered the gold standard in clinical research for evaluating the effectiveness and safety of a particular treatment or intervention. In an RCT, participants are randomly assigned to either receive the treatment being studied or a control treatment (usually the standard treatment or a placebo). The outcomes of the participants in both groups are then compared to assess the efficacy and safety of the new treatment or intervention.
