The Indian budget consists of two types of expenditure. One type includes expenditure made from Consolidated Fund of India. This expenditure is voted by the Parliament. Whereas, Other types includes expenditure which is ‘charged’ upon the Consolidated Fund of India. This expenditure is non-votable by the Parliament. It can only be discussed by the Parliament, and cannot be subjected to vote.

The charged expenditure includes:
