It flows eastward through the Indian states of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh, before emptying into the Bay of Bengal. Its Right-Bank Tributaries are: Tungabhadra River, Ghataprabha River, Malaprabha River, Koyna River, Panchganga River and Dudhganga River. Its Left-Bank Tributaries are: Bhima River, Musi River, Munneru River, Paleru River, Haliya and Dindi Rivers.
