Explanation – The Jnanpith Award is India’s highest literary honour, presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to Indian authors for their outstanding contributions to literature. Instituted in 1961, it recognizes exceptional literary achievements in Indian languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution and in English. Vinod Kumar Shukla, a renowned poet and writer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has been awarded the 59th Jnanpith Award, India’s highest literary honour. He is the first author from Chhattisgarh to receive this honour.
