About
  • Mission Drishti is a satellite mission of GalaxEye, an Indian space-tech startup.
  • It is scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2026.
  • It stands as India’s largest privately constructed satellite and represents the nation’s most advanced high-resolution satellite to date.
To be launched byGalaxEye – a Bengaluru based space startup
Aims To achieve near real-time Earth observation capability for various global applications
Technological Innovation
  • 8-10 satellites will launch over the next four years.
  • It is designed to provide “all-weather, all-time” imagery capturing high-quality data day or night, in any weather.
  • Each satellite is engineered as a remote-sensing Earth observation system, optimised for spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions to capture high-precision imagery.
    • It introduces GalaxEye’s proprietary SyncFused Opto-SAR technology, which combines synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and high-resolution optical sensors into a single integrated satellite system to provides simultaneous optical and radar imaging — a first for an Indian private satellite.
    • It also enables high-precision, fused data output even through clouds, darkness, or adverse conditions.
  • Weight: 160 kilograms — India’s largest privately built satellite.
  • Resolution: 1.5-metre spatial resolution (each pixel = 1.5 × 1.5 meters on Earth).
Application
  • Targets a wide range of end-users, including:
    • Government and defense agencies – border surveillance, security monitoring.
    • Disaster management – rapid assessment and response.
    • Infrastructure and utilities – structural health and maintenance.
    • Agriculture and environment – crop monitoring, climate resilience.
    • Finance and insurance sectors – risk assessment, asset monitoring.
Significance
  • Mission Drishti is a milestone for India’s private space sector, showcasing indigenous innovation.
