About Global Virus Network (GVN)

- It is a coalition of leading virologists worldwide that advances understanding of how viruses cause disease and develops drugs and vaccines to prevent illness and death.
- No single institution has expertise in all viral areas.
- Founded in: It was founded in 2011 by Robert Gallo, in collaboration with William Hall and Reinhard Kurth.
- Mission: To brings together medical virologists and public health experts to leverage strengths and focus global teams on key scientific problems.
- Strength: Its strength is its global reach, scientific depth, and commitment to solving viral challenges facing humanity.
- Extension: The Global Virus Network represents 80+ Centers of Excellence and Affiliates in 40+ countries.
