About Bhima River

- Origin: Bhima River starts from the Bhimashankar hills in Maharashtra.
- It is also known also as the Chandrabhagha River.
- States covered: It flows through Maharashtra, Karnataka and Telangana.
- Merges into: It merges into the Krishna River at Kadlur (Raichur), Karnataka.
- It is the largest tributary of the Krishna River.
- It is bordered by the Western Ghats to the west, the Balaghat Range to the north, and the Mahadeo Hills to the south.
- Tributaries: Its major Tributaries include rivers such as Sina, Nira, Indrayani River, Pavana River, Mutha River, Ghod River and Kukadi River.
- Pilgrimage centre: Pandharpur which is an important pilgrimage center is situated on the right bank of the Bhima River.
