Indian politics, global economy and constitutional democracy are entering a phase where old categories are no longer enough.

Arvind Datar’s article on federalism informs that India cannot be strong through a powerful Centre alone; its strength finally depends on strong States and respect for constitutional limits.

Jeremy Adelman’s essay on capitalism shows that capitalism survives not because it is pure or just, but because it keeps reinventing itself through crisis, resistance and reform.

The article on Article 368 gives a sharp constitutional warning: a two-thirds majority is not meant for political drama, but for serious consensus-building.

Together, these three pieces tell us that institutions survive only when power is balanced by responsibility, adaptation and good faith.
