  • ‘VIJAY’ is an acronym that defines the key priorities that will guide the Army’s future transformation.
  • The acronym represents ‘V’ for vigilance, ‘I’ for innovation, ‘J’ for jointness and integration, ‘A’ for Aatmanirbhrata and ‘Y’ for ‘Yodha first’.
    • ‘V’ – for Vigilance and Readiness: This highlights that the army will maintain constant vigilance regarding our borders and emerging threats and uphold a high level of operational readiness to effectively counter any challenge to national security.
    • I’ stands for Innovation and Transformation: This defines the focus on both doctrinal and technological solutions. Innovation will be an integral part of the army’s mindset, operational methods, and capability development. This also includes transformations necessary to adapt to the evolving battlefield. 
    • “‘J’ stands for Jointness and Integration: Army will adopt an integrated approach to maintain synergy, complete coordination and alignment with the Air Force and the Navy to enhance the Indian Army’s operational effectiveness.
    • ‘A’ stands for Aatmanirbharta: The Army will build a self-reliant Army by leveraging indigenous capabilities and technologies developed within the country, we .
    • ’Y’ stands for ‘Yoddha First’ (Soldier First): This will act as a guiding principle for the forces. The welfare, empowerment and professional growth of every soldier will remain an enduring commitment.
