News: The Ministry of Culture implements the Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY) under which financial assistance is provided directly to eligible artists, cultural groups and cultural organizations across the country.
About Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY)

- Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY) is a Central Sector Scheme.
- Nodal Ministry: The Ministry of Culture implements the scheme.
- Features:
- Under this scheme, financial assistance is provided directly to eligible artists, cultural groups and cultural organizations across the country, including those in rural areas.
- Financial assistance is not allocated on a State-wise or district-wise basis.
- It supports various forms of performing arts and cultural activities through different components.
- The Government promotes and preserves tribal art, folk traditions, music, dance, cultural festivals and cultural heritage through the Kala Sanskriti Vikas Yojana (KSVY).
- Seven Zonal Cultural Centres (ZCCs) have been set up with headquarters at Patiala, Nagpur, Udaipur, Prayagraj, Kolkata, Dimapur and Thanjavur Further to protect, promote and preserve various forms of folk/ tribal art & culture throughout the country.
