News: Flash floods in the Karpat Nallah in Miyar Valley and the Gawadi Nallah in the Chowkhang Naingar area of tribal Lahaul-Spiti district have disrupted road connectivity.
About Miyar Valley

- Location: It is located in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, in the western Himalayas.
- It is also called the land of perpetual snows and valley of flowers
- It extends from the Udaipur area towards Kang La, beyond which lies the Zanskar region of Ladakh.
- River flowing through: It is carved by the Miyar River which eventually joins the Chenab River.
- Landscape: It is covered with green forests, snow-covered mountains, flowing rivers, and small villages.
- Flora: It has variety of high-altitude flowers such as rare and famous Blue Poppy.
- Fauna: It supporting rare Himalayan wildlife, such as elusive Woolly Flying Squirrel, Snow Leopard etc.
