  1. Greenpeace has been forced to shut two of its regional offices in India owing to financial constraints.
  2. Greenpeace is a global non-governmental environmental organization with a presence in many countries including India.
  3. The NGO has been barred from receiving foreign donations since 2015 after its bank account was seized under the Foreign Contribution Regulations Act (FCRA), 2010.
  4. FCRA is a law enacted by Parliament to regulate foreign contributions provided by certain individuals or associations to NGOs and others within India.
