  1. Vice President of India has suggested shifting the Center of Excellence for Studies in Classical Telugu from Mysore to either of the Telugu states.
  2. Vice-President also visited the Central Institute of Indian Languages (CIIL) and appreciated the efforts of the institute in preserving and promoting classical Telugu.
  3. The Central Institute of Indian Languages(CIIL) is an Indian research and teaching institute based in Mysore.It is part of the language bureau of the Ministry of Human Resource Development.It was founded on 17 July 1969.
  4. CIIL advises and assists central as well as State Governments in the matters of language.It also contributes to the development of all Indian Languages by creating content and corpus.
  5. Further,it also protects and documents Minor,Minority and Tribal Languages.It also promotes linguistic harmony by teaching 15 Indian languages to non-native learners.
