  1. The Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, has added Hindi as the 3rd formal language to be used in the city’s courts. Now Hindi will be used alongside Arabic and English.
  2. The move will allow Hindi speakers to better familiarise themselves with the litigation procedures and their rights without the need for translation.
  3. This initiative is part of bilingual litigation system which required the complainant to translate the court documents in civil and commercial lawsuits into English, if the defendant does not speak Arabic.
  4. The adoption of the scheme is in line with “Tomorrow 21” project. The project encompasses a series of reforms aimed at stimulating investment,jobs,innovation and improving the quality of life for citizens.
