Anuraj Jain, who is currently serving in Forest Services, secured a rank of 24 in the Civil Services Examination 2018. He is an Engineering graduate from BITS Pilani and after having worked for 2 years in corporate, he left his job to give his full dedication to UPSC preparation.
This was his second attempt overall and second attempt in interview as well. Also, last year he fell short by 4 marks in the final result. He got a rank of 21 in IFoS last year.
His GS scores were pretty high this year as he scored 452 in GS papers combined, which is among the top five GS scores this year.
“In Mains, my general strategy was that if a 10 marker is there, I somehow created 9-10 points and for 15 markers, I created 13-14 points. I used to do jogging and running to overcome stress during the preparation”, says the topper.
Watch his interview with Asif sir, where he talks about how he did things differently to get a rank this year and what did he do to improve his Essay Writing skills and the approach of writing answers.
