69TH BPSC (2023) EXAMINATION

BPSC is one of the most reputed State Level Civil Services Exam conducted for recruitment to multiple posts in the state of Bihar. The posts include Sub Divisional Officer (Dy. Collector), Sub Divisional Police Officer (Dy. SP) Rural Development Officer, District Social Welfare Officer and other PCS level Officers, etc.

Structure of the 69th BPSC (2023) exam

Like UPSC, UPPCS, and other state-level Civil Services exams, BPSC exam is also conducted in three stages:

  • Prelims: The BPSC prelims exam just consists of one objective type paper of 150 marks with Negative Marking. There will be 1 mark for correct answer and -1/3 or –0.33 for wrong answer. It means One-Third Negative Marking.
  • Mains: Some major changes have also done in the Mains stage. The mains stage consists of 4 subjective papers and one Optional paper will be of MCQ type as mentioned below.

30% will be mandatory to qualify General Hindi Paper, but it is uncountable in Merit List. Just like General Hindi Paper, Optional Paper will also be of qualifying nature, and cut off is decided by the State Government, this is also uncountable in the Merit list.

  • Interview: This stage is for 120 marks. Candidates who qualify for Mains are called for the interview.

For the Interview, the merit list will be prepared by the marks achieved in GS-I, GS-II, and Essay.

The merit list for the 69th BPSC (2023) exam will be decided as per the final score of the candidates including Mains and interview stages, i.e. out of 1020 marks (900 + 120).
