About Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2024
- The Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) is released annually by Transparency International.
- It ranks 180 countries and territories based on perceived levels of public sector corruption.
- The score is on a scale of 0 to 100:
- 0 = Highly Corrupt
- 100 = Very Clean
- The ranking is based on surveys and assessments by experts and business leaders.
- India ranked 96 out of 180 countries in CPI 2024.
- India’s score dropped to 38 (from 39 in 2023 and 40 in 2022), showing a gradual decline.
- India’s rank in 2023 was 93, meaning it fell by three positions in 2024.
- Least Corrupt Nations (Top 3):
- Denmark (1st) – Cleanest country.
- Finland (2nd).
- Singapore (3rd).
