The 27th Summit of the UNFCCC was remarkable in reaching an agreement on setting up the Loss and Damage Fund. However, the challenge lies in agreeing on the modalities regarding operation of the fund, and other governance mechanisms regarding climate reparations. Apart from the announcement regarding the L&D Fund, there were no major outcomes at the COP27, indicating slow progress on Climate Action.
