News:Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO) has conducted a successful flight test of the Supersonic Missile Assisted Release of Torpedo(SMART) from Wheeler Island off the coast of Odisha.
Facts:
- SMART: It is a missile assisted release of lightweight Anti-Submarine Torpedo System for anti-submarine warfare(ASW) operations for far beyond torpedo range.

- Anti-submarine warfare: It is a branch of underwater warfare that uses surface warships, aircraft, submarines, or other platforms to find track, and deter, damage and/or destroy enemy submarines.
