News: An Indian Army contingent has departed for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to participate in the second edition of the India-UAE Joint Military Exercise DESERT CYCLONE-II.
About Exercise DESERT CYCLONE–II

- Exercise DESERT CYCLONE–II is the second edition of the India–UAE Joint Military Exercise being conducted in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
- The exercise is scheduled to take place from 18 to 30 December 2025.
- Participating Contingents
- The Indian Army contingent consists of 45 personnel from a battalion of The Mechanised Infantry Regiment.
- The UAE Land Forces are represented by a contingent of similar strength from the 53 Mechanised Infantry Battalion.
- Aim of the Exercise: To enhance interoperability between the Indian Army and the UAE Land Forces.
- Objective: The exercise seeks to foster defence cooperation through joint training in an urban operational environment.
- It aims to prepare both forces for peacekeeping, counter-terrorism and stability operations under a United Nations mandate.
- Significance of the Exercise
- Exercise DESERT CYCLONE–II will further strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between the two nations.
- It will promote mutual understanding of tactics, techniques and procedures between the participating forces.
- The exercise will contribute to the development of interoperable capabilities between the Indian Army and the UAE Land Forces.
