The Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) or Gross Enrolment Index (GEI) is a statistical measure used in the field of education.
Previously, the UN used it in its Education Index to calculate the number of children enrolled in school at various grade levels and to display the ratio of students who live in that country to those who qualify for that grade level.
According to the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) 2019-20 report, India’s Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in higher education is 27.1 percent for2019-20, up from 26.3 percent the previous year.
