News: The 2024 Nobel Prize in Physics has been awarded for the foundational discoveries and inventions of Artificial Neural Networks that enabled the development of machine learning and laid the ground for the AI Revolution.
1. Machine Learning (ML): It is a sub-domain of AI that focuses on developing algorithms and statistical models that enable computers to perform tasks without being explicitly programmed.
2. Machine learning is different from deep learning. Deep learning is a subset of machine learning and uses neural networks with many layers to analyse various types of data.
3. Some applications of Machine Learning: A) Healthcare B) Manufacturing C) Finance D) Cybersecurity
4. Artificial Neural Network (ANN): They are a collection of neurons or nodes that are capable of processing data. The flow of information between two neurons is bidirectional in nature.
5. These neural networks mimic the functioning of the human brain to make decisions.
