Context India has joined the US-led ‘Call to Action for 6G Leadership and Security’, along with 25 other countries, to promote secure, interoperable and resilient 6G networks. The initiative complements India’s existing Bharat 6G Vision and Bharat 6G Alliance.

Key features of the US-led initiative

1. The initiative seeks to promote open, interoperable, secure, resilient, AI-supported and resource-efficient 6G networks.
2. The participating countries will cooperate to strengthen the security and resilience of future telecommunications networks.
3. The framework focuses on developing secure and resilient 6G supply chains and addressing cybersecurity risks associated with telecom investments.
