- Indian space Research Organization (ISRO) is hosting first batch of students under the Young Scientists Programme, also known as YUva VIgyani KAryakram (YUVIKA).
- In January 2019, ISRO had announced “Young Scientist Programme”- a special programme for school children. The Program is primarily aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to children. The intent is to arouse their interest in the emerging areas of Space activities.
- The programme has a duration of about 2 weeks during summer holidays. It includes a) invited talks, b) experience sharing by the eminent scientists, c) facility and lab visits, d) exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, e) practical and feedback sessions. Those who have finished 8th standard and currently studying in 9th standard are eligible for the programme.
