ISRO to shortlist students for ‘young scientist programme’ by month-end

  1. Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has requested States and UTs to select three students each for the Young Scientists Programme and submit the list by March-end.
  2. In January 2019, ISRO had announced “Young Scientist Programme”- a special programme for school children. The Program is primarily aimed at imparting basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to children. The intent is to arouse their interest in the emerging areas of Space activities.
  3. The programme will have a duration of about 2 weeks during summer holidays. It will include a) invited talks, b) experience sharing by the eminent scientists, c) facility and lab visits, d) exclusive sessions for discussions with experts, e) practical and feedback sessions. Those who have finished 8th standard and currently studying in 9th standard are eligible for the programme.
