News:Recently,eighteen people were rescued after an iron barge on which they were shifting broken rice sank at the Kakinada port.

About Kakinada Port:
- Kakinada Port is an all-weather deep water port.It is located on the East Coast of India, Andhra Pradesh which is about 170km south of the Visakhapatnam Port.
- The seaport was commissioned by the Andhra Pradesh Government in November 1997.However,the Port was privatized in the year 1999.
