    • North: The Caribbean Sea
    • South: El Salvador and the Pacific Ocean (via the Gulf of Fonseca)
    • East: Nicaragua
    • West: Guatemala
  • Landscape: Mostly mountainous (about 80% of the country), with lowland coastal plains along the Caribbean and Pacific coasts.
  • Major Rivers: The Coco River forms the border with Nicaragua and other important rivers are Patuca & Ulúa.
  • Islands: The Bay Islands (e.g., Roatán, Utila, Guanaja) in the Caribbean Sea are a popular tourist destination.
