  • It is an Iranian medium-range ballistic missile, which was unveiled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2022.
  • The name “Kheybar Shekan” translates to “Breaker of Khaybar” in Arabic, referring to the historic Battle of Khaybar.
Classification It represents the fourth generation of the Khorramshahr family of ballistic missiles.

  • It is powered by the ‘Arond’ engine, which is integrated into the fuel tank to reduce the missile’s length and improve camouflage.
  • It uses solid fuel, enabling faster launch preparation, easier storage, and improved concealment.
  • It can be launched from a mobile platform and is operational within 15 minutes of deployment.
  • It operates in three-phases consisting of takeoff, mid-course guidance using rear engines, and a precision-guided terminal descent.
