Aspects	Description
About	It is an Iranian medium-range ballistic missile, which was unveiled by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in 2022. The name “Kheybar Shekan” translates to “Breaker of Khaybar” in Arabic, referring to the historic Battle of Khaybar.
Classification	It represents the fourth generation of the Khorramshahr family of ballistic missiles.
Technical Specifications	It is powered by the ‘Arond’ engine, which is integrated into the fuel tank to reduce the missile’s length and improve camouflage. It uses solid fuel, enabling faster launch preparation, easier storage, and improved concealment. It can be launched from a mobile platform and is operational within 15 minutes of deployment. It operates in three-phases consisting of takeoff, mid-course guidance using rear engines, and a precision-guided terminal descent. It utilizes a combination of shifting flight paths, speed alterations, and dynamic maneuvers to confuse tracking systems.
Length and weight	It is about 4 m long and weighs approximately 1,500 kg.
Operational Range and Carrying capacity	It has an operational range of around 1,450 km. It carries a 550 kg high-explosive warhead.
Speed	It can reach speeds of up to 19,500 km/h within the atmosphere and 9,800 km/h outside the atmosphere (approximately Mach 12).
Equipped with	It is equipped with satellite-guided navigation and manoeuvrable warheads, enhancing its strike accuracy. Its high speed, aerodynamic design, and absence of ailerons reduce radar detection and air resistance.
