About Lake Michigan
- Lake Michigan is the third largest of the five Great Lakes in North America.
- It is the only Great Lake located entirely within the United States.
- Boundaries: It is bordered by the states of Michigan to the east and north, Wisconsin to the west, Illinois to the southwest, and Indiana to the southeast.
- It connects to Lake Huron through the Straits of Mackinac in the north.
- It is part of the Great Lakes–St. Lawrence Seaway system and supports international shipping and trade.
