- According to the statement issued by the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Bajirao which is the last captive white tiger at the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai has died at the age of 18.The tiger was born at this National Park in 2001.
- White tigers were once found in Madhya Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar.Now there are no white tigers in the wild.The last white tiger reported in wild was captured in Rewa forest Madhya Pradesh.
- White tigers are not a separate subspecies but are white in colour due to an expression of recessive genes.The features of White tigers are (a)pink noses (b)white-to-cream coloured fur and (c)black grey or chocolate-coloured stripes and (d)eyes are usually blue but may be green or amber.
