Navtej Singh Johar & Ors vs UOI

About: It is a judgment which decriminalized homosexuality and recognize LGBT rights. 

Case: It was a special leave petition filed by Naz Foundation in 2006 as a PIL filed by it in 2001 which was dismissed in 2004 followed by a review petition which was again dismissed for challenging the constitutional validity of sec-377 of IPC. 

Judgement: It gave recognition to right to sexuality, the right to sexual autonomy and the right to choice of a sexual partner as part of the right to life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India. It also declared Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 (IPC), which criminalized consensual sexual conduct between adults, as unconstitutional.
