News:According to South Asian Seasonal Climate Outlook Forum(SASCOF), rainfall during the upcoming Southwest monsoon season over the whole of South Asia is expected to be normal.
Facts:
- South Asian Seasonal Climate Outlook Forum(SASCOF) is a regional forum of meteorologists and hydrological experts from South Asian countries.
- It was established in 2010 and is coordinated by India Meteorological Department (IMD).
- Countries: It covers Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
- Objective:To collectively issue a regional forecast for the Southwest and Northeast monsoon seasons every year.
