What is the News?

Passport to Earning (P2E) Initiative has skilled and certified more than one million young in India in areas of financial literacy and digital productivity.

What is the Passport to Earning(P2E) Initiative?

Launched by: UNICEF

Purpose: It is a digital platform that aims to provide young people with free, world-class and job-relevant skills training and position them for employment opportunities. 

Platform used: P2E is built on the Microsoft Community Training platform and offers digitized content provided by a range of public and private sector partners.

Courses: The initiative provides free access to certificate courses in digital productivity, financial literacy, employability skills, and other in-demand, job-ready skills.

Mode of Learning: It provides learning options in online, hybrid and offline models.

What has Passport to Earning(P2E) Initiative achieved in India?

In India, P2E Initiative aims to deliver long-term sustainable skills to 5 million youth in the age group of 14-29 by 2024.

This will enable them to find jobs, become self-employed, or start their own businesses and achieve financial independence.

Till now, P2E Initiative has skilled and certified more than one million young people in India in areas of financial literacy and digital productivity.

Notably, 62% of all young learners who benefitted from P2E courses in India are adolescent girls and young women.
