- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred on ‘The King Hamad Order of the Renaissance’ by King of Bahrain. This has been awarded as a mark of appreciation for his contributions towards strengthening India- Bahrain bilateral ties.
- PM Modi is the first Indian Prime minister to visit Bahrain.
- Other awards that have been recently conferred on PM Modi are: a) Order of Zayed (UAE’s highest civilian award), b) Grand Collar of the State of Palestine (highest honour of Palestine given to foreign dignitaries), c) Amir Amanullah Khan Award (highest civilian honour of Saudi Arabia), d) Seoul Peace Prize (South Korea), e) Rule of Nishan Izzuddeen (Highest honour of Maldives)
