News: Indian Space Research Organsiation (ISRO) will launch two satellites, aboard PSLV, under Proba 3 Mission.

1. Proba 3 Mission is led by European Space Agency (ESA) to demonstrate advanced space technology, particularly in flying formation.

2. The scientific goal of Proba-3 mission is to study the solar corona, the outermost part of sun’s atmosphere.

3. The mission involves the use of two satellites. One satellite will have a coronagraph to look at the sun, while the other will be equipped with occulter to block the light from the brighter layers of the sun.

4. The satellites will fly in a parallel position for six hours a day, with a distance of around 150 m from each other.

5. The satellites will be launched into a highly elliptical orbit in a stack configuration and later will be put in a parallel orbit.

6. The satellites will demonstrate Collision Avoidance Manoeuvre to avoid the risk of collision or running away from each other.
