India is the second-largest producer of aquaculture globally, leading in inland fisheries and ranking sixth in marine fisheries. FAO’s Blue Transformation aligns with the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana. Aquaculture is the breeding, rearing, and harvesting of fish, shellfish, algae, and other organisms in all types of water environments.
