Explanation – Cloud seeding is a kind of weather modification technology to create artificial rain. It works only when there are enough pre-existing clouds in the atmosphere. Silver iodide, Calcium chloride, dry ice are some of the common chemicals used in the process of cloud seeding. However, silver nitrate and Mercury Compounds are not used for cloud seeding process as they have significant environmental impact.
