The Centre would establish a seaweed park with special economic zone status in Tamil Nadu. The project will be the first of its kind in India and will come up under the PM Kisan Sampada Yojana.

Note: Seaweed, or macroalgae, refers to thousands of species of macroscopic, multicellular, marine algae.
