Explanation – The National Water Development Agency (NWDA), under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, is primarily responsible for planning and implementing the Inter-State River Linking Project in India. It was established in 1982 to study the feasibility of river interlinking projects under the National Perspective Plan (NPP). NWDA prepares Detailed Project Reports (DPRs), conducts technical studies, and oversees the implementation of these projects.
