Explanation – The founding members of ASEAN were: Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. These five countries signed the ASEAN Declaration (also known as the Bangkok Declaration) on August 8, 1967, establishing the organization. Vietnam joined ASEAN later.
