Statements 1 and 3 are incorrect. The MSP is announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, based on recommendations from the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP). The MSP is generally announced twice a year, before the Rabi and Kharif seasons, to provide price support to farmers during these cropping periods.
Statements 2 is correct. The FCI, along with state agencies, procures food grains at MSP to ensure that farmers receive a guaranteed price for their crops and to maintain food security.
