Questions
1.) Given the country’s development aspirations, India’s power demand is set to rise substantially and become more variable. There is an urgent need to take steps for the long-term resilience of India’s power sector. Highlight the factors affecting the power sector of India and suggest some measures to solve the issues.
2.) Jan Dhan has deepened financial literacy among poor women and in rural areas. Analyze the statement.
Good Attempt. You have tried to cover all the issues affecting power sector in India. Writing is fair, legible. Arguments provided in point-wise manner, hence easy to read.
Some suggestions for improvement:
1. Divide your answer into distinct sections: first address the aspect of issues impacting India’s power sector. Then focus explicitly on remedial measures. Highlight measures that can enhance resilience of the sector. At present it is mixed which impacts the structure and flow of the answer.
2. Do mention the electricity mix and over-dependence of coal. Diversification is necessary and government is taking steps in this regard by enhancing renewable energy.
