Nice answer. You have answered well by listing down the examples.
Some suggestions for improvements
1. You can classify the examples into two groups: (-)ve and (+)ve. Pakistan and Sri Lanka who followed the policy of ‘imposing’ a single language suffered from massive discontent, eventually leading to violence. Singapore and South Africa followed accommodative policy and prospered. India has also followed the +ve policy of accommodating diversity.
2. Cut down on the sentences a bit and keep them short. You can use the time and words saved to suggest the forward approach India should adopt.
3. Conclude stating that India should continue with English as link language as it has benefitted us a lot and has worked well since 1960s. Imposition may result in similar movements we witnessed in 1960s.
