Questions
1) The integration of Northeast India into mainstream Indian life has been on the national agenda from the very start of India’s journey as an independent nation. Discuss the measures taken for the integration of the North-East. Also, suggest what more can be done in this regard.
2) Criminal laws and procedures, though modified, the shadows of India’s colonial legacy, still remain in them. In the light of the statement, highlight the important changes and present challenges to the criminal laws in India.

Great answer! Some additions can be made in the content though:
1. In introduction part, you can mention that the region is ethnically/racially (Mongoloid group) and linguistically diverse (Mon Khmer/Sino-Tibetan languages).
2. Highlight Siliguri Corridor/Chicken’s neck to depict regions geographical isolation.
3. In measures, you can add special provisions for States of Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim under Art. 371.
Thank you. Now I just started to write in time bound manner. Trying to reduce time taken for writting. Here I face a new issue. Answer becomes very generic. It is not Content rich. Some points go missing.
Today i wrote a 10 marker question on rural health issues in 10 minutes.
I missed facts like 1.2% gdp spending on health, sanitation and role of swachch Bharat etc..
So, if I take more time, i can write content rich answers. And when I take less time, the answer becomes very generic. How to strike a balance here.
Are you appearing in Mains 2022?
The answer is good, though scope of improvement is always there.
No. I’m not appearing in mains 2022. Preparing for 2023.
There’s time. So if you are not comfortable with the quality of content, don’t optimize for time right now. You can gradually improve, say if you are taking 25 minutes to think and write at present, try to come down to 20 minutes first, then 15 or so. You can practice like this for next 2-3 months. Then push for the time limit, maybe from December.
Ok sir. Thank you for the advice. I’ll follow this method and try to improve. Thank you for responding and supporting everytime.
Please review and let me know my mistakes

Excellent, awesome content! Under constitutional provisions, do mention Sixth Schedule explicitly, although You have mentioned Article 244. Also add Article 371, it has special provisions for 6 NE States.

Okay! I’ll add these points.
Also, it took me approx 25 mins to write this answer it that okay!? Initially I took 45 mins to write an answer.
It’s fine for now. Once You have nearly perfected what and how to write (which You seem to know), start working on the time aspect. 45 to 25 min is significant improvement, but eventual target is 9 minutes (or 8.5). Work on gradual improvement, keep the next target at 20 or 15 mins.

It appears that You haven’t referred to the reference article. The answer is great if the question was about Criminal Procedure Act. But the question is more from the Criminal Law framework in India, so highlight the aspects that have been improved (like lots of amendments to the IPC, new dedicated laws etc.) Then come to the issues still facing the criminal laws (like largely still based on colonial era IPC, issues with implementation etc.) You can refer the reference article and Kiran’s answer above.
Keep writing 🙂
Great answer! Most of the points have been covered. Some more points can be added though:
1. Under colonial legacy, You can mention that IPC has been largely adopted as such, though it has been amended from time to time.
2. Under challenges, do add the point that functions of investigation and law and order have not been separated.
3. You can also add issue related to arrest/bail. Because of ambiguity in law/lack of awareness about rights, greater tendency to arrest.
4. Although, the question statement hasn’t asked for reforms explicitly, You can mention Malimath Committee on reforms in Criminal Justice System. Other reform commissions/committees have been there as well (National Police Commission, Padmanabhaiah and Ribeiro Committees, though there were on Police reforms, not criminal justice system).
All else looks good!
Thank uu …I’ll add them to my note
