Excellent answer! Nice depiction of some instances of illegal mining through map. You can add an explanatory note that illegal sand mining is prevalent in almost all of India in riverine beds.
Also in suggestions, you can mention stringent implementation, strict action against errant officers, Rules/Processes are already there.

Great answer! Comprehensive coverage of points.
Only thing I feel can be changed is first point under reasons for illegal mining, a bit long. Just mention that Environmental authorities responsible to provide clearances seem to bypass due process as rejection rates are extremely low.
Today’s answers seem within word limit. Great job!

Good attempt. The definition seems good, although can be improved. Some relevant points have been mentioned (like identifying mutations, tracking spread). Some other irrelevant points can be removed e.g., avoid generic statements you have used in-between like surveillance progressed a lot or WHO declares Monkey pox as public emergency because they haven’t added any value but broke the flow of the content. Refer to Ruchi’s answer, you can follow her approach.
There is improvement in today’s answer, keep working hard, you’ll be able to better yourself.

Great answer! Very apt definition.
Some suggestions for minor improvements:
1. You can mention some minor minerals that are mined illegally, like TON-618’s answer. Illegal mining is prevalent mostly in case of minor minerals.
2. One of the point mentioned in the article regarding easy clearances by the State and local environment authorities can be added.
3. First point under measures to tackle, I think You mean Ministry of Mines there.
Personal opinion, You should mention Ministry of Mines or at least Min. of Mines. Try not to leave any ambiguity for the examiner.
4. Point related to Gondwanaland is bit unclear, You may rephrase it.
Answer is great overall! Just some minor improvements required.

Great answer! Some suggestions
1. Definition can be improved a bit. Refer Kiran’s answer.
2. According to the article, one reasons is laxity in granting clearances; rejection rate is 1% only.
3. Couldn’t really understand the linkage with farm distress, You may want to elaborate that.
All other aspects are great!

The agricultural lands get inundated ..loss of top soil. Soil fertility reduces. ..farmers suffer hence I wrote farm distress

Good attempt! Some relevant points have been mentioned
I’d suggest to refer to the article before writing the answer, you can avoid points that are not very relevant.
The reasons for illegal mining are first and foremost the laxity in implementation of rules/regulations. Demand is not a reason. Also gold is not plenty in India. Similarly earthquakes don’t happen because of illegal mining. Mostly minor minerals are illegally mined, generally through open pit methods. There may be local subsidence of land, but it doesn’t impact plates. Try to avoid mentioning points that are not related, it leaves a bad impression, as if trying to bluff the examiner.
