What is end-to-end encryption? What are the applications of it and also highlight the issues associated with it.

Looks great, nicely answered.
One issue is of balancing the aspect of privacy with national security. e.g., if the encryption is so robust that even the parent platform can’t decrypt (only receiver has the key), it will ensure privacy, however, in law enforcement issues, platform may not be able to support investigating agencies.
However, if the platform can actually decrypt message (i.e., some employee may have access to decrypting key) it fails to provide complete privacy. Messages can be read by 3rd person.
