Questions
1) India has a robust ecosystem in geospatial, however, the full benefits have yet to percolate to the public. In this context, discuss the challenges and opportunities of geospatial sector in the country?
2) There are simpler, more effective, and less contentious solutions to the shortage of IAS officers for central deputation than the proposed amendments to IAS (Cadre) Rules. Analyzing the reasons behind shortage, suggest remedial measures.
3) There is great synergy between the US desire to “empower allies and partners as they take on regional leadership roles themselves” and India’s ambition to play a larger role in the Indo-Pacific. Critically analyze India’s policies to engage Indo-Pacific, in the light of US’s new Indo-Pacific Strategy.

Nice answer. You have covered almost all points.
Some of suggestions for improvement:
1. In pt. 4 You have not mentioned the complete detail. “discontinuance of direct recruitment” – at which position? It can be construed as if direct recruitment to IAS cadre has been discontinued. Do mention Central Secretariat Service Group B. Be mindful that what you have written shouldn’t be mis-interpreted by the examiner.
2. In the introduction, you can mention in 1-2 lines that the amendments proposed by the Union Government have been opposed by the State Governments, causing friction in the relationship.
3. Conclusion: You should mention that the issue can be settled constructively by using mechanisms like Inter-State Council. The loss of officers in1947 is not very relevant.
Good try 🙂
However you need to work on some aspects.
1. Be very specific and avoid generic statements. for example
a) “Significant contribution to national income” – Significant is subjective. You can write that sector has potential to grow to 63000 Cr.
b) Similarly the second point in opportunities seems vague. Be specific on the relationship between catastrophic event (which all events?) and hunger crisis.
2. You began by definition which is a good practice. Just go through today’s 7PM article on forum, this has been covered there. Geospatial technology is not limited to topography only.
3. Content is lacking in some aspects. Again, cover from today’s 7PM Article.
